CD34, CD34 molecule
Background
CD34 is a 105- to 120-kDa glycophosphoprotein expressed on the majority of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, bone marrow stromal cells, capillary endothelial cells, embryonic fibroblasts, and some nerve tissue. CD34 is a commonly used marker for identifying human hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells and mediates cell adhesion and lymphocyte homing by binding L-selectin and E-selectin ligands. CD34 is also one of the best negative selection markers for characterizing and/or isolating human MSCs from bone marrow and other sources. Along with other positive selection markers (such as CD29, CD44, CD90, CD105 and CD166), negative selection markers (such as CD34 and CD45) are used for MSC identification. This antibody 14486-1-AP is raised against 33-286 amino acids of full protein.

Immunogen Information
Full name:
myelin basic protein
Calculated molecular weight:
33 kDa
Observed molecular weight:
17-22 kDa
Gene symbol
MBP
Synonyms
MBP, Myelin A1 protein, Myelin basic protein
Background
MBP belongs to the myelin basic protein family. The classic group of MBP isoforms (isoform 4-isoform 14) are the most abundant protein components of the myelin membrane in the CNS. They have a role in both its formation and stabilization. The smaller isoforms might have an important role in remyelination of denuded axons in multiple sclerosis. The non-classic group of MBP isoforms (isoform 1-isoform 3/Golli-MBPs) may preferentially have a role in the early developing brain long before myelination, maybe as components of transcriptional complexes, and may also be involved in signaling pathways in T-cells and neural cells. MBP has six isoforms. Catalog#10458-1-AP is capable of recognizing multiple isoforms of MBP.
